Black Theatre Archive Project

9 January 2010

Wyllie has been recently involved in the National Theatre Studio's Black Theatre Archive Project, an initiative to create an archive of African, Caribbean and Black British plays that have been professionally produced in Britain.  As well as paper archives, video and audio recording samples of the plays are also to be made. Over the past week, Wyllie has been working with director Cheryl Martin to record extracts from plays by playwrights largely associated with the northwest: Linda Brogan, Segun Lee French, David Hermanstein and Lemn Sissay.

Testimonials

‘But the show was stolen by Wyllie Longmore in the role of Neville, Aaron’s father. Longmore’s comic timing, inch-perfect facial expressions and natural stage presence had the audience in stitches and even provoked spontaneous applause mid-scene.’
